Stylish and contemporary, Roman blinds offer a look that sits between the minimalist style of roller blinds and the softer look of curtains. Roman blinds are generally soft fabric blinds that fold and stack evenly when raised but are flat and smooth when lowered. Due to their large fabric area they can be patterned for ornate styling or plain and simple so suit any window.
Roman blinds were traditionally designed to block out the light (obviously), but for full blackout they can be customised with a blackout lining on the exterior (window facing side) to achieve this. As romans are sometimes one piece of fabric or large layers stitched together they allow for large patterns which can have more of a design impact on your room so they can become a major feature. We have a large selection of patterns and prints to choose from as well as plain colours too.

Roman Blind FAQ’s
Should Roman Blinds touch the window sill? The bottom of the blind should just be touching the sill when closed. If you have window sills with uneven heights then use the shortest drop measurement to avoid crumpling.
What is the maximum width for a roman blind? Custom blinds can be up to 300 cm (118”). This requires more than one width of curtain fabric so it will have neat joins matching the pattern where necessary.
Should roman blinds be hung inside or outside the window recess? Generally we recommend outside the window recess for Roman Blinds. Both options are ok but there are pros and cons to each, but most importantly outside allows most light in when retracted and less light in when closed.
